You Can't Hack PKR

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

I noticed a few threads on some coders and hackers websites asking if anyone could figure out how to hack PKR.  Needless to say, nobody has succeeded, because it can’t be done.  There is no way to see other peoples cards or see what the community cards will be in a game of PKR poker.  All games are legitimate and fair, with quality random number generators, deciding which card will come next.

The only way a poker player can cheat in a NL hold’em game is through collusion.  Notice I did not include limit hold’em in that statement because poker bots are very capable playing this the limit variety of hold’em online.  Collusion is when two players play at the same table, sharing information between them, such as their cards and what they are planning to do in their coming turns.  A common collusion strategy is each player betting small amounts when one of the players has a big hand, hoping to string along another player, because the pot increase is minimal each time.

To repeat though, there is no way to hack into PKR and gain an advantage on the other poker players.  For some reason because the software is more advanced than other sites, people sometimes think that it may not be as safe, but this is not the case.

PKR is a safe room.  Check out our PKR bonus codes and try it out for yourself.

PKR's Deal or No Deal

Saturday, December 6th, 2008

PKR has recently introduced the popular tv game show “Deal or No Deal” to it’s software.  The game can be played for play or real money and is hosted by an animated version of Noel Edmonds.

To start a game of Deal or No Deal, just click on the red “Deal or No Deal” tab in the top left corner of the PKR lobby.  You can play for anywhere from $0.50 to $100.

How to Play
First of all you will have to pick one of the 26 boxes to be your own box.  The hope is that your box will contain the highest value of all 26 boxes.
Next you must reveal the remaining boxes in chunks of a set number of boxes.  For example at first you will have to reveal 6 boxes, and this number will decrease each time you do not take the Bankers deal.
After you have revealed all the necessary boxes in one turn, the banker will give you an offer to sell your box that you chose at the beginning of the game to him.  If you choose not to sell the banker your box, you must choose more boxes.  This continues until either you take the bankers offer, or you are down to your box and one remaining box.
If you get down to one remaining box you will be given the option to keep your box or switch boxes.  Then whatever you have is what you get.

The bankers offers are based on an average of what values have not been revealed.  This is  game of complete luck and you can even choose to autoplay.  PKR has done a good job with there Deal or No Deal game at it’s a fun novelty to have if you want to take a break from the tables.

If you want to play Deal or No Deal, remember that our PKR Bonus Codes still apply.

PKR Poker School

Monday, November 24th, 2008

PKR is one of the only online poker rooms that offers a poker school right on their main site.  With sections for Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced players, everyone will find something to read in the hopes of improving their game.

The beginner section includes articles on getting started, game selection, starting hands selection, hand rankings and betting.  The intermediate section includes a ton of articles from playing pocket pairs to calculating your odds to basic sit’n'go strategy and everything in between.  The advanced section is where it really gets interesting though, with information on player types, bluffing, bank roll management (which is extremely important for any serious player), pot odds and more.

Every article is extremey informative and is set out in an easy to read format, that features many sections to each article as well as pictures to help keep you interested.

The poker school is then topped off with a glossary so you can look up anything you don’t understand from the articles right there and then.

I suggest you check out the PKR Poker School today and report back here, letting me know if it improved your game!

PKR Points

Monday, November 24th, 2008

PKR points are a form of currency at PKR.  You can use the PKR points that you have earned in many ways, including:

  1. Purchase character accessories, such as chip tricks and new clothes to make your character exactly the player you want at the table.
  2. Buy-in to some exclusive PKR freeroll events, including the big $10K premium freeroll at the end of every month.  PKR point satellites to all the land based events have also recently been added.
  3. Purchase cool “real life” merchandise such as hoodies or tournament tickets from the PKR store.  Some examples of merchandise include a PKR hoodie for 100,000 points or a ticket to the $7.5K Guaranteed tournament with a buy-in of $109 for 150,000 points.

For every $1 you spend in tournament fees, you earn 100 PKR points.

In ring games, PKR points are awarded based on how much money you contributed to the pot.  For example if you contribute $9 to a $50 pot with a $2.50 rake, you would earn 45 PKR points because that is 18% of the total amount of PKR points given out for a $2.50 rake hand.  The maximum amount of PKR points you can earn in one hand is capped at 150.
